On-Site Early Childhood Education Programs
Stanford has six on-site early childhood education programs that serve children in the Stanford community ranging in age from infants to five years old. All offer the highest level of care, supervision and education.
Looking for a preschool for your 2-5 year old?
Many of our on-site child care centers have preschool program vacancies. Review the application details below for more information.
The WorkLife Office manages the centralized application process, including the submission of applications and collection of application fees. The application fees are sent to the centers to support their operations and are non-refundable.
Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for and maintain active enrollment at Stanford’s on-site child care centers, you must be employed with Stanford University, Stanford Health Care, or Stanford Medicine Children’s Health in a benefits-eligible role, enrolled as a matriculated student, appointed as a Postdoctoral Scholar through the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs, or appointed in a visiting scholar/faculty affiliation by the Office of Academic Affairs.
Application
Prior to completing an application, please scroll through this page and review each of the child care center webpages specific to their programs, classroom capacities, and philosophies. The Stanford child care system has multiple operators to support parent choice in the program that is the best fit for their family.
After you have reviewed each of the child care center’s webpages, click on the application tile that corresponds to your current affiliation with the university. Due to various factors, families may not receive an offer for enrollment by their requested start date, particularly in the younger age groups. Typically, we are able to make immediate offers to children in the preschool (2-5 year) range when families apply to multiple centers.
Spaces in Stanford child care centers are highly sought after, so we encourage you to submit an application for your child well in advance of your desired start date. You may apply for Stanford child care once you have a birth or due date for your child, and are affiliated with Stanford or have confirmation of acceptance for future affiliation with Stanford.
Submitting an application does not guarantee admission at the time when you need care, so we encourage you to apply to off-site child care programs in addition to Stanford’s campus child care programs, to maximize your opportunity of getting a space in the timeframe needed.
