Women's health

Stanford offers resources to support women's health, including Midi Health, which provides virtual care tailored for women 40+ experiencing menopause symptoms, covered by Stanford-sponsored Aetna plans. Additionally, Inflection (formerly FertilityIQ) offers digital education and support specifically focused on menopause to benefits-eligible employees.

Midi Health

Stanford has partnered with Midi Health to help you take ownership over your well-being at midlife. The only virtual clinic created for women 40+, Midi delivers expert care for perimenopause, menopause, and more. Midi is offered to covered employees, spouses or domestic partners covered by Aetna medical plans (Stanford Select Copay Health Plan, Stanford Choice HDHP, ACA Basic HDHP).

How Midi works

  • Convenient video visits. Midi is completely virtual, which means you don’t need to leave the comfort of your home to speak with a clinician.
  • You can access Midi's services through your insurance plan as an in-network provider, which means that the standard co-pay or deductible associated with your plan would be applicable. Since several Midi providers are specialists, if you are in a co-pay-based plan you would pay the specialist co-payment.
  • Empathetic care. Midi clinicians take the necessary time to listen to what you’re experiencing and go deep into your health history. Whatever your symptoms, Midi understands them—and has treated them.
  • Real relief. First, Midi clinicians address the symptoms you’re feeling right now. Personalized treatments may include hormonal or non-hormonal prescriptions, supplements, and lifestyle coaching. Then they’ll focus on helping you reach your wellness goals and protect your future health.

What Midi treats

Midi’s team of specialists is here to guide you toward safe, effective solutions for the following symptoms:

  • Hot flashes + night sweats
  • Trouble sleeping
  • Weight + body changes
  • Brain fog + memory lapses
  • And more

Midi also cares for any patient under 40 experiencing a hormone fluctuation or imbalance that results in perimenopause or menopause symptoms. This can be caused by:

  • Surgically-induced menopause (when an oophorectomy—the removal of both ovaries—causes someone to go through menopause)
  • Medically-induced menopause (when certain drug and radiation therapies damage the ovaries, causing menopause)
  • Premature menopause (menopause before the age of 40)
  • Early menopause (menopause before the age of 45)
  • Symptoms resulting from premature ovarian insufficiency, PCOS, and other conditions

These conditions can affect women starting in their twenties. Midi welcomes them as patients and supports them with hormonal and non-hormonal treatments.
