What is one fun fact about you?
I support sustainability efforts on campus (on my own time) by salvaging/repairing as many of the rusting and abandoned bikes on campus as I can and distributing them free of charge to Stanford Students in need.
What is one thing that you like about working at Stanford?
It feeds my spirit to work in and around the beautiful Kingscote Gardens...coaching our students next to the pond with rabbits running around below and hawks soaring above.
Tell us briefly about an event, project, program or initiative you were involved with at Stanford that you're most proud of.
It was an honor and pleasure to teach courses on the topic of Positive Psychology (The Art and Science of Happiness) for many years alongside my esteemed colleagues. More recently, I am VERY proud of our Well-Being Coaching program which has me and my colleagues standing by to support our students with most ANY life issue that may confront them and/or any manner in which they would like to grow personally, through a subclinical life-coaching process.
What is one of your favorite memories while working at Stanford?
Riding my bike down Palm Drive in the morning on my way to work.
Leave your Legacy: What piece of guidance would you give a new hire at Stanford?
Obviously do what you are good at but always be gravitating towards work that is inspiring/joyful/meaningful to you. That is what has kept me in the SAME job for 25 years.
